Tularemia is a disease that can infect animals and people. Rabbits, hares, and rodents are more likely to become infected through the bite of an infected tick. People can become infected through an infected tick bite, direct contact with an infected animal, drinking contaminated water, or by inhaling contaminated dust or aerosols.
