Oncology Data Specialist Profession
The Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential sets the standard for professional competence in the cancer registry field. It is nationally recognized in the recruitment and retention of registry personnel. NCRA’s certification board – the Council on Certification – oversees the ODS exam administration and credential maintenance.
Education and Training
The Nevada Central Cancer Registry (NCCR) provides comprehensive training services and educational resources tailored to Nevada Cancer Reporters. Our offerings include both in-person (currently limited to Northern Nevada) and online training sessions, covering a range of topics, NAACCR webinars, basic and specialized training, advanced workshops, and software tutorials. We annually update the Nevada Cancer Reporting Manual, offering essential guidance to registrars reporting cancer cases in the state.

Nevada Oncology Registrars Association (NORA)

The Nevada Oncology Registrars Association (NORA) brings together cancer registrars, students, and other health data professionals working in the state of Nevada for professional networking, collaboration, and educational development opportunities. NORA holds quarterly meetings and provides continuing education sessions for members.

FLccSC-Nevada Registrars
The Fundamental Learning Collaborative for the Cancer Surveillance Community (FLccSC-pronounced as “flossy”) is Nevada’s go-to learning management system. Silver State Registrars can access CE-eligible courses from NAACCR’s Cancer Registry and Surveillance Webinar Series, as well as course modules that have been created and shared from other states. The webinar recordings and materials are FREE at no cost to Nevada cancer reporters. To access the training, you must have a free FLccSC account.
