New Immunization Exemption Requirement for Nevada Child Care Facilities and Accommodation Facilities
Amendments to NAC 432A were adopted by the State Board of Health on December 10, 2020 and adopted by the Legislative Commission on January 5, 2021. The new immunization exemption requirements and allowances will go into effect July 1, 2021.
- A parent of a child requesting an immunization exemption due to medical conditions or religious beliefs must:
- Submit a written statement on a form provided by the Division of Public and Behavioral Health of the Department of Health and Human Services; and
- Those requesting religious exemptions must submit the above-mentioned State Immunization Exemption Form annually to the child care or accommodation facility on a schedule set by the facility.
- A local health officer may conduct an audit of the medical exemptions granted by a child care or accommodation facility in certain circumstances.
