Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by a tiny parasite. Humans can become infected by consuming food or water that was contaminated with infected feces. Foodborne outbreaks of cyclosporiasis in the U.S. have been linked to contaminated imported fresh produce. People living or traveling in tropical or subtropical regions of the world are at an increased risk.
