Cryptosporidiosis (or Crypto for short) is a disease that causes watery diarrhea. Crypto is caused by a tiny parasite that can be found in water, food, soil or on surfaces that have been contaminated with infected human or animal feces. Crypto is a leading cause of waterborne disease among humans in the U.S.
