Candida auris (C. auris) is a fungus that causes serious infections that affect the blood, heart, or brain. C. auris is often resistant to medications and can be difficult to identify. Additionally, it is becoming more common and causes outbreaks in healthcare facilities as it can spread through contact with affected patients or contaminated surfaces.
