Purpose

EpiTrax is a comprehensive disease surveillance and case management system designed to support public health investigations. It streamlines the collection, tracking, and analysis of communicable disease data, helping health departments monitor trends and respond quickly to outbreaks. By integrating laboratory results, case reports, and workflow tools, EpiTrax improves data quality, coordination, and decision-making across public health programs.

Roles and Access

Within EpiTrax, user roles play a vital role in ensuring efficient and secure management of public health data. These roles are carefully assigned based on the specific responsibilities and expertise of individuals involved in disease surveillance and control. Roles are assigned on a tiered system. Top-tier access is for authorized individuals who oversee system configuration, user management, and security protocols. Middle-tier roles are typically held by epidemiologists and public health officials, allowing them to input, analyze, and interpret surveillance data, facilitating informed decision-making and response planning. Lower-tier access is granted to users to report cases and contribute valuable patient information.

Individuals needing access to EpiTrax can send an email request to informatics@health.nv.gov with your name, organization, and contact information. The Informatics team will respond with the next steps.
